I am a cancer survivor! I received the dreaded prostate cancer diagnosis. Like many people who receive a cancer diagnosis, I had many, many questions about my cancer. Dr. Hickey aka “Doc” thoroughly reviewed the characteristics of my prostate cancer and explained these details in a way that my family and I could understand. He certainly has the gift of making cancer easy to understand.
Dealing with cancer is tough and dealing with the unknown is scary. However, knowing exactly what was happening within my body provided me with peace of mind while on my journey to defeating cancer.
Dr. Hickey was truly a blessing to me and my family! I recommend including Dr. Hickey into your "circle of care" as a means of becoming educated about your cancer.

I was experiencing abdominal pain so I met with my gynecological oncologist to find out why I was having so much pain. A series of blood tests were performed and came back with elevated CA-125. I was so nervous and stressed. I didn't even know what CA-125 meant. I feared the worst case scenario that it could be ovarian cancer. I wanted to know more information about the “what if’s” and I tried to schedule an appointment with my doctor to discuss the blood test results. I had a terrible time getting an appointment to speak with my doctor, or anyone at the office for that matter. I contacted Dr. Hickey to learn more about the significance of abnormal levels of CA-125. He reviewed my medical information and was able to simplify the complex details into terms that I could understand. He put me at ease and I felt relieved. I can attest that he has the gift of communicating medical language that is easily understood by his clients.
I learned so much from speaking with him. So much in fact, I asked him to come with me to my next doctor’s appointment. At the appointment, Dr. Hickey asked the appropriate questions on my behalf and Dr. Hickey even impressed the gynecological oncologist with his knowledge of ovarian cancer. Right then, I knew that I made the right decision to bring Dr. Hickey with me to my appointment. I will definitely have Dr. Hickey by my side at all of my doctor’s appointments!
I highly recommend that you consult with Dr. Hickey at the very beginning of your journey. He will be by your side throughout the whole process and keep you informed about what is going on with your health. Next, I suggest taking him with you to your appointments so all the right questions will be asked on your behalf and he can follow you on your journey. He brings with him a sense of calm that really resonated with me and gave me peace during a very stressful time in my life.
Dr. Hickey was my angel in my time of need!
Thank you so much for everything!

My brother Franklin was diagnosed with Cancer in December 2019. Even after taking my brother to one of the best hospitals in the nation, we still had unanswered questions. My daughter immediately mentioned that it would be best to meet with Dr. Hickey so he could review my brother’s case. Upon meeting, I instantly felt a sense of hope and regained a fighting spirit to help my brother overcome this horrible disease. There was such detail and thought put into his explanation that was unexpected, It made me feel as though there was a personal interest in my brother’s case. At Sloan Kettering Center, I felt that my brother was a number in the system but with Dr. Hickey I felt as though we were family and my brother was not just another patient. I always had the same feeling leaving his office, that he truly cares. I feel blessed to have met Dr. Hickey, it was not a coincidence that my daughter was in his Biology class, I am confident that God brought us together.
I have met with Dr. Hickey numerous times and I can say that from day one he gave me a sense of security that no hospital or doctor is able to give me. I always leave Dr. Hickey’s office feeling fortunate to have met him. Finding out that a loved one is diagnosed with cancer is devastating and confusing. I encourage anyone going through what I am going through to contact Dr. Hickey.

At the time my husband was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, our family was totally devastated. Not only were we trying to digest the fact that my husband had cancer, we were also trying to understand doctors reports and medications as well as treatments available. We were put in touch with Dr. Christopher Hickey who was brought into our life at the right moment. Dr. Hickey sat down with us after doctor visits and explained reports, etc. on our terms so that we could understand what was happening at the present as well as what to expect in the future. I fully recommend anyone who is going through this devastating news to get in touch with Dr. Hickey. He will meet with you and help you to understand the situation and hopefully to put your mind at ease.
